If I were to put an honest sub-title to this blog, i am emily, it would say something like “Middlebury grad. Retired Model. Baby Jesus.” (Don’t ask, just accept.) But that wouldn’t really give you an idea about what you will find in the archives of writing that began in August 2004, archives which span the topics of politics, college, music, film, art, travel, fashion and fun. Instead, what you will find here is a reflection of what I know, the knowledge that I accumulate, and how it is reflected in my style, from my interest in finance to my political rantings and my growing obsession with men’s fashion. It’s not as abstract as it sounds, I promise. Just read, and enjoy. Who knows, maybe one of us will learn something in the process.

about andrew
“Be brave enough to live life creatively. The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you’re doing. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself.”
– Alan Alda

A new correspondent to i am emily, Andrew writes from NYC. Andrew & Ems met at Middlebury, and, while A maintains that E was instantly attracted to him for his rock hard abs and sharp German accent, the truth may be something more like A was drawn to Ems for her Catherine Hepburn hair and rival fascination with Fashion and World Business. A degree in European Economic History & German Language as well as a full committee of personalities fuel Andrew’s interests, covering International Politics & Economics, German Culture & Business, as well as food and wine.
