New Read: Dating a Banker Anonymous

Since I discoverd Dating a Bank Anonyous (DABA) back in January, it has become a staple morning read of mine, right next to the NY Times and Talking Points Memo. For the most part, the blog chronicles girls (not only those in their twenties) who are now unfortuante girlfriends of bankers (primarily in New York), watching the relationships fumble all around in front of them due to the recession.

I know, that sounds like it’s kind of ridiculous a bit masochistic, except that it’s all a lie. That’s right. The whole thing is a publicity stunt and a potential book deal. While this should turn me away from the blog, it makes me even more intrigued. I mean, everyone likes to be entertained by people whole, by not getting the bigger picture, explain a lot of truths.

Anyway, if you want a good dose of morning (un)reality and humor, read/bookmark this blog.

Wait… this seems heavily like a piece of fan-fiction… except for the part that the meta-narrative is what’s happening in the news.

Is this form of entertainment serving some purpose, a distraction, or beautiful in and of itself?
